First published in French in Recherches amérindiennes au Québec in 1993, this collection of essays aims to provide a better understanding of the Algonquin people. The nine contributors to the book deal with topics ranging from prehistory, historical narratives, social organization and land use to mythology and legends, beliefs, material culture and the conditions of contemporary life. A thematic bibliography completes the volume. Published in English.
